Thank You!

We first would like to say thank to all of our family and friends for the enormous amount of support you all have shown us during this difficult time. We are extremely appreciative of everything that everyone has done and will never be able to show enough thanks to all of you.

As I'm sure you can imagine, we are finding it a bit overwhelming to keep up with everyone who is "Checking In On Sue" and we thought this would be the best way to keep many of you informed of her progress.

Most importantly we want to stress to everyone what the doctors have been stressing to us - this is going to be a long process, we are not going to see any major improvements, only "baby steps". While that is frustrating for us (and for many of you), we are taking great joy in the tiny improvements that we are seeing each day and doing our best not to get discouraged at the waiting. While much of this is a "two steps forward, one step back" kind of thing, the doctors feel that although slowly, Sue is heading in the right direction.

Today was a very good day - we received several reports of positive progression in small amounts in a few areas. Sue's respiratory system is slowly getting better; all of these levels are within normal ranges and the doctors have pulled back on both the amount of oxygen she is being given and the amount of work the respirator is doing for her. She has also begun to show some improvement in levels that indicate that her kidneys are also heading in a positive direction and that the dialysis is doing what it is supposed to be doing for her.

We feel very blessed to have such amazing people working at the hospital. Each and every employee of the hospital, from the nurses and doctors to the lab technicians and housekeeping staff have been truly compassionate and supportive during this time. They are all communicating very thoroughly with us and ensuring that we understand what is being done and why. We couldn't ask for anything more and want you all to know that Sue is receiving the absolute best care possible from truly wonderful people.

We may not be able to update every day, but will try our best as we know many of you are interested in Sue's progress. Keep the prayers, good vibes, and positive thoughts coming our way! Hugs and kisses to you all...

  1. Hi Michelle,

I'm so glad you took the time to write this blog. I've been wanting to call, but knew it would be better to wait right now. Aunt Sue has been on my mind and my prayers. I love her and you guys so very much. I've never felt so far away as I do right now. Your update helped me. Send all my love to Aunt Sue. I miss you.

    Love always,

  2. Hi Michelle

Just to let you all know that we are thinking of Sue on this side of the Atlantic.

Such a good way to keep everyone in "the loop" as to her condition, and it is good to hear that she is making some improvements, even if they are small ones.

    With all our love,

Bib, Paul, Katy, Josh, Richard and Melissa

PS apologies for removal of previous post typo errors LOL

  4. Hi to everyone from joly old England.

Bib & I have been away for the weekend but read Mikes update on Saturday evening and it really pulled on the heart strings. Just shows the amount of love that he has for Sue, but then again you all knew that.

Michelle thanks for todays update on Sue's condition The sun is shining here and we all think that those rays will give us the answer to all our prayers and that Sue will wake up finally. And when she does and reads all the blogs she will realise how much we have missed her - muppet LOL (a private joke that no doubt she will share with you all)

Anyway hope that the next update gives us the news we are waiting for.

    With all our love

    Bib & Paul

  7. Hurrah....Hurrah....after a FEW tries I finally make it into the blog. Joan and Becky were both a big help. I am overwhelmed with how beautifully the family of Sue and Mike on both sides have placed a very positive position and spirit as we share in the exciting healing of Sue. WOW...Michelle and Mike, you write a very well informed and interesting and really exciting blog. I have been reading it for a number of days. Thank you for the enriching information you are providing. I am sure you all will miss Nancy...I know she was a rewarding helper. It is now nice to know that Tony and Sara are on location. I know you all work hard to keep things up...but...do take times to enjoy each other and keep very healthy. Prayer warriors are joining in one healing common effort and that being for the healing miracle to continue in Sue's body...and...it WELL !
Love to all with Bunches of Prayers, DAD
