Well it's Thursday and honestly, I'm not really sure how that happened. Sometimes the days seem long and sometimes they just fly by and all run together.
Yesterday I went into work for a little bit and I picked a good day to do it because Mom spent a lot of the day sleeping and we had a pretty busy day at the shop/office too. She told the nurse that she had an upset stomach in the morning and what they gave her made her tired and she spent most of the day sleeping, which I'm sure is a good thing right now. Last night, Marc got a big grin out of her while we were visiting and it gave us all a good laugh.
Everything continues to progress slowly in a positive direction. Mom's blood pressure has begun to hold its own and the nurses have been backing her off blood pressure medication. When she first went in, she was on three, and they have gotten her down to one and they are reducing how much they are giving her each day. The doctors tell us that once she can maintain her blood pressure they will be able to take her off the continuous dialysis and start her on a daily or every other day treatment until the kidney function returns to normal.
Sara and Tony have been holding down the fort at home...keeping things clean, getting dinner ready, running out to our beloved Wegman's to pick up some groceries. It's been a huge help and it's a relief for Dad, Brian, and I to have them pitching in. (Tony has been performing hard labor for most of his time here, so he may be a little sorry he came!)
Keep the prayers, good vibes, and positive thoughts coming our way! Hugs and kisses to you all...

Wow - sounds like each day is bringing a bit more progress! This is wonderful news. My thoughts and prayers are streaming east - my body will follow soon! Keep up the good work, Sue!
ReplyDeleteLove to you all, Diane
Sue, I miss you already! I'm so happy that each day you're healthier than the day before! Mom and Dad eagerly await your daily updates and send tons of hugs and kisses. All of us are sending loving thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteHey sis, there is something that I want to tell you. You are a very lucky girl. Mike is wonderful. I mean it. He adores you. Wow!! He could hardly leave your side while you were sedated. His plan to make sure we had nightly dinner together was a wise one. Either Michelle would whip up an amazing meal or Marc and his family would send a delicious dinner for us. It was a good way to regroup and catch-up. Brian would join us when he didn't have an appointment for work. Those two kids of yours are terrific! They were pillars of support for Mike. I just love them both!!
Thank you Sara and Tony for helping Sue and Mike. It was difficult to leave, but it was easier knowing that you were on your way.
Sue, love you and hi to those five star nurses. Nancy XO!!!
Aunt Nancy,
ReplyDeleteIt was an absolute blessing having you here last week. This has been (and still is) a difficult situation for all of us, and you had a way of making everything seem "alright" while you were here. My mother is lucky to have a sister like you.
I know Mom knew you were here. You not only brought positive energy throughout you're stay, but you brought the support of the McLean family as well. I know that means the world to Mom. I only wish that we were all closer.
I wanted to thank you on here because I think it is important for everyone to know how much it means to my family and I that you were here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
P.S. Ruckus misses you!
Love,
Brian <3
