Sat. morning update

Sue had to go back on the respirator early Friday morning, not long after Michelle and I left the hospital on Thurs. night. This was really not a surprise given how she was struggling with her breathing. She had a build up of CO2 in her system. Sue was resting comfortably all day Fri. and her blood pressure returned to normal (yippee) and the BP pressor was discontinued early in the day. The staff is giving her just enough sedation to keep her comfortable on the respirator and actually was on none through most of the day. She is only on 50% oxygen which is also a good thing. Sue's color was much better also. We await some new lab results and a report from the docs this morning and trust this will be a short and minor setback.

My Dad and Joan arrived yesterday. It is great to see them and their support has been super and needed. We all had a nice early dinner at Wegman's, then went back to the hospital for a while, came home for dessert and then J&J went to their hotel to sleep.

Please keep praying. Mike

  1. To my dear family in Jersey,

You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad Sue was a little better. I just keep thinking that everything will be ok, it just has to be.

Michelle, you do such a FANTASTIC job with the blogs.
I enjoy reading them. They keep us informed and can be so comical at times. Mike, you are a great sub. It helps to know what you are all going through. I know it can be a roller coaster of emotions having someone in the hospital this long.

Love, prayers, many hugs, and kisses, Rachel

  2. Hi everybody. Just to let you know that you're in our thoughts over here.

We were sorry to hear of Sue's setback in the week but reading the Saturday update it does appear that Sue is heading slowly in the right direction again.

Mike, we had Mark & Chris visit us last night and they asked me to send on their best wishes to you all.

Have to agree with Rachel you are both doing a fantastic job with the the blog keeping us updated.

As always all our love to you all.

  3. Thanks for sharing more positive news yesterday.
You are so fortunate to have Sue in a place where she gets such wonderful care. She is so fortunate to have all of you and the excellent staff at the hospital. It is good to know that Dad and Joan arrived to give their loving support just when you needed them most! We are glad that they are able to get in to visit Sue with you. Not being able to see her while we were there was tough, but the nurses know best! Stay strong and keep the faith! Grace, peace love and prayers to the Cox family from the Donghia family.
